Awards Nomination Form – Ontario Archaeological Society

Application Criteria

Application packages must be received by the OAS board by August 1 of the calendar year of the award.
The application must be typed.
Incomplete packages will not be considered.
Nominators must be members in good standing.
Nominees cannot be board members.
Nominees cannot be self-nominated.
More than one award may be handed out per year for the following award categories:
- Charles and Ella Garrad Award for Outstanding Service
- Award for Excellence in Publishing
- Heritage Conservation Award
The OAS reserves the right not to nominate anyone in any given year.
Successful candidates will be contacted in September of the calendar year by the Director of Member Services.
Note: Candidates are considered for three years. Those not successful in the first year will be reassessed in the following two years.
Awards will be presented at the annual OAS Symposium

Letters of Recommendation

For the J.V. Wright Award and the J. Norman Emerson Award two letters of recommendation must be provided and authored by individuals familiar with the nominee’s achievements. All other rewards require at least one letter of recommendation. These letters should be no more than two pages in length. A letter of recommendation cannot be written by the applicant. Please do not submit more than two letters as only two will be reviewed.
